How do issue weapons get chosen ? :

1. This is what we've been using , we're more or less OK with it , so we'll stick with same basic platform give or take the cal , or minor bbl length differences.

2. What do the Agencies nearby use ? We don't want to be different and/or keep up with the Jonses.

3. What do large trend setting regional or national agencies use? We want to seem cutting edge to impress other local Agencies.

4 . The Personal favorite of the lead Armorer / lead Instructor / percieved main gun guy of the Agency. Usually a good thing unless they have really strange tastes.

5. What brand is represented by the Chief/ purchasing guy's brother in law

6. And sometimes the proverbial Low Bidder.
