The actual frame is the same (get the calipers), but the grip frame of the Blackhawk is smaller and usually aluminum. The original .357 Blackhawk frame was smaller. So are the special edition flat-top .44 specials.
Ruger even made a Super Blackhawk Hunter in .41 mag.
I took a stainless Super Blackhawk grip frame and fitted it to my 4 5/8"bbl .41 mag Blackhawk.
