And I really side with more Redneck Jim in that a red dot and a spare battery makes the most sense. This ain't your service rifle... Folding sights with absolute co-witness if you just can't live without iron sights also.
I'm old and have cataracts and astigmatism and have to be carefull in my choice or red dots. Many don't have very good optics. C-mores (the big one) and Ultra-Dot matchdots both have nice crisp round dots for me. That said I'm looking for a suitable 1 1/2 - 4X scope with crosshairs to put on one of my 15-22s instead of my C-mores with their 12 or 16 minute dots for plinking when they're not being used for competition.
