Mine looked like yours. I took a dremel with a wire brush bit and remove any paint off the ramp and smoothed out the machining grooves on the ramp with a fine grit sandpaper. Also, I removed paint on the slide where it came in contact with the frame. Before I did this, I had numerous failures to feed. Afterwards, it feeds flawlessly.
