Default 586 no dash - unpleasant surprise

I recently bought a nice 586 no dash from an online auction site. It came with Hogue rubber grips installed. No box. Pictures and information indicated a very nice revolver, and it is - with one exception. I removed the rubber grips to find (to my horror) a small rust spot with a bit of pitting. See picture.

With S&W factory stocks installed the spot is visible just above the stocks.

Live and learn. Always check under the grips or have them send pictures with the grips removed.

So with this in mind, how would this spot affect the value? Is it worthy of the factory stocks even with the blemish showing? Is there anything I can do to fix the blemish without making it look worse? Thanks for the input.
