I had a chevy S10 bought in '87, 95, and '03. Only the '95 needed a new main cable when the battery cracked and over time the acid ate clean through it. managed to coast into a parking lot where they were building a "stop and rob", secured a hunk of copper wire off the ground and pieced it in with medical tape from my first aid kit. I went to the Silverado in '10 because they are the only "body on frame" truck left. Has 44K on it (I work close to home) and I love it. I have also had 3 Impalas, '02 (I drove this one as a pharma rep, drove it almost 100K miles in 3 years, gave it to my son who drove it another 100K and traded it in on my wife's '12), '06 and '12, none ever in the shop. I'm probably done with P/U's, at 61 I just can't move a refrigerator as effortlessly as I used to. Joe
