It isn't just court. I remember when one of my sergeants and did a funeral detail for an inmate. We were in suits which covered up the pistols and the inmate was given a change of clothes before hand. The deceased's family showed up looking like they were going to the county fair, all of them in t-shirts, shorts, I bet the only one besides us that had seen a bath was the guy in the casket. If you can't have respect enough to dress up for a relative's funeral, what will you have? I was taught to go to court, a job interview, etc. all the same way. Looking your best. I only own one suit, but I wear it at weddings and funerals and a couple of hearings I have been too its been dress slacks and a decent button down shirt. I've seen enough trolls coming and going from court rooms over the years that just amaze me. It looks like People of Walmart on trial. I've seen quite a few that appear to have gone to court in their pajamas.
