I know this is a thread which has been resurrected from the long-dead, but in regard to the early statement, "Last, but not least, is a 1930s box of Peter's .38 Special High Velocity. The box is absolutely mint, just like the day it left Kings Mill(s)," that box probably did not come from Kings Mills. It appears to be no older than the late 1930s, and after the earlier duPont purchase of Peters, all metallic cartridge production was ended at Kings Mills in 1936. It was moved to Remington at Bridgeport CT. The only commercial ammo production remaining at Kings Mills thereafter was shotshells. There was a new plant built near the old Kings Mills works to manufacture .30 Carbine ammo during WWII.
