I dunno if Canelas does consignment sales, but, if so, that could be what the owner is demanding.
I saw the same thing at an. LGS last year: a $700 price tag on a run of the mill M19 wearing Goodyear grips. When I commented on it, the guy behind the counter just laughed & said it was consignment and that's what the owner wanted. I said they should have told him no because it makes them look greedy, but they're not going to turn away business.
