I have not shot mine since the first week of owning mine. Which was A few weeks ago. I took my former boss with me we took turns between the shield and his old S&W 357. The following weekend he went to a gun show and traded in his Kal for the shield. He lives in the country and has a back yard range. He said the springs do loosen up a little after a couple of thousand rounds.
