The only thing I would add to what has already been said is that buying a can is a lifetime purchase. Once you buy it, it's yours. There is not much of a market for used rimfire cans. You'll pay $200 just for a tax stamp. Choose wisely. After doing your research, buy the can you want the most regardless of price. Selecting a can just because it is cheaper than the one you really want is a mistake you'll regret. That said, the cheapest can might well fit your needs. A guy who rarely uses a can other than for pest control around the house might be just fine with an all aluminum $200 can. A high volume shooter would be better served with a $400 titanium or stainless can. In any case, it's not a bad idea to err on the more expensive.
I've got a YHM Wraith and a Silencerco Sparrow. They both have strong and weak points. There is no "best" can. For example, Viper is right about Liberty making very quiet rimfire cans. They are also among the largest (longest). With suppression, size (volume) matters. More volume, more slowing and cooling of gasses, quieter. Some folks prefer more compact size. Weight, size, design, materials... it's all a matter of compromises and costs.
Enjoy the hunt.
ps SilencerShop are great folks to deal with.
