My MKII Target 512 is also one of the 50th Anniversary models. Picked this one up new to replace a MKI Target that was stolen in a burglary.
Always a problem with stove-pipes & failure to eject. I set it in the safe & pretty much forgot about it.
Couple of years ago I got involved in a rimfire forum called Rimfire Central - I wound up replacing a couple of internal parts with Volquartsen parts. One of which was VQ's Exact Edge Extractor. Amazing performance after that. I replaced the stock Ruger grips with a set of Ruger thumb-rest grips. Now she shoots like a sewing machine.
Then the Wife saw her - with the new functionality, grips, & appropriate leather holster, that's all it took. She's killer (both gun & Wife) on the reactive range and very hard to keep up with.
All's good - I replaced the Ruger with a Colt Huntsman, so we both made out.
