We have a blued (hers) and a stainless (his) 5-1/2" bull barrel .

When the pistol is together except for the "snap latch pin thingy" :

1] point gun muzzle down, squeeze the trigger, and get the hammer to fall forward into the bolt.

2] keep the muzzle pointing down and install the "snap latch pin thingy" by getting the hammer strut to fit into the its little pocket. Close the lever into the grip frame.

The whole key to success is squeeze the trigger and get the hammer to fall forward. Final assemble is 20 seconds after that. If the hammer isn't forward, the gun CAN'T be assembled.
