My #3946 (with rack number) is only 876 guns from yours and also has the logo on the left side. I don't think there is anything unusual about this.
The grips are more likely from an I or J frame - .32 New Departure grips would be much smaller.
Interesting gun, but I think it has been refinished (the pins on the left side have been polished flat and the butt looks rounded). I'd bet that the barrel has been shortened. It would be the first 2" Perfected I have seen.
