I've seen a few 4-inch pre-lock M586's with a Patridge front sight, but never one with a box label or factory letter to support it was original. I'm sure there were a few made that way, maybe for export and in small numbers.

I've also seen a few 4-inch guns with semi-target hammers. S&W rarely put the hammer type on the box label during this era, so it's something hard to validate. They did more frequently put trigger type on boxes and quit a few had (semi) Target Triggers (TT). I have a 8 3/8-inch M586 that has both a Patridge sight and a (semi) TH, but that's a different animal.
