Constitutional Carry in Maine
The ME legislature is on the verge of passing Constitutional Carry. The Governor threatened to veto the bill because it originally mandated that people have to be 21 or over to carry. The legislature amended the bill and now 18 or over if the person is active duty military.
The last I heard from a friend of mine, it was in the Ways and Means (or whatever their version is) Committee because the projection is that three positions will be eliminated because a lot of people won't be applying for permits.
One thing in the law is a little bit odd. If someone is carrying without a permit and are approached by the police on official business, they must inform the officer that they are carrying. This will not apply to people who have permits.
