I agree the HK VP 70 has a historical significance being the first functional polymer pistol by a large margin. And the full auto rate of fire : 2'200 shots/min  . Still not very pretty though in my opinion, but then neither were the first Glocks (we just got used to them as they are gazillions now). |
Yep, the P9S has grown on me - such that I occasionally suffer from the idea of seeking out the .45 cal version
To me the VP70z looks like a science-fiction ray gun - so while definitely not "pretty" it has always had an odd appeal to me. (I know you're a wood grip guy, so I can see the VP would be the antithesis of that!) Not a gun I plan to give up - though I shoot it VERY rarely
ETA: I should have mentioned the unique optical illusion front sight also ... another innovative (if not popular) feature of the VP70.
