Default Help Identify Mod 17-3

Hello S&W Experts
I came upon this site after trying to research a revolver that was passed on to me by my father after his death in 1993.
It is a S&W .22 Long Rifle CTG Model 17-3. Serial :8K51***. Both the Serial & Mod are located behind the yoke. Hand Ejector. It has grooved wood target grips that cover up part of the SW logo. Target hammer, 6" barrel, blue carbon frame, 6 shot. Adjustable rear sites.
It has been kept cased in very good condition. I will attach a few photos in hope I get some responses of the pistols history and approx. value.
Thank you for your knowledge
regards,
Chuck (upsetter)
