I'm the captain of a uniformed government security detail. We are not LEOs, but we perform armed access control, perimeter and meeting security, both in situ and off-site, and personal protection for our principals. All my officers carry Glock 22s. I carry a Smith & Wesson Model 686-6 and qualify semiannually on the exact same course of fire as all LEOs in the state, usually 96% or 100% per course of fire. (We have to shoot a qualifying score twice each time.) Yeah, I carry a S&W Model 642-2 as a backup gun, too.
