I'm sure Gumpys knows what he's talking about. I owned a 686-1 and sold it 5 years back. I always regretted it. Recently I picked this up and am glad for the simple twist of fate. I should have purchased the 586 from the beginning. Mine's a 586-3 that S&W gave an action improvement to. I love its classic blue elegance. No contest in my book.
