1982 586 no dash, no 'M', 6" in nickle, not even a turn line, guy was dying of cancer and was selling off all of his guns. He bought the 586 in 1982, put 6 shots through it and then put it in his safe. He also bought a Glock Gen 1, G17 from 1986, one of the first to come into the country, put a mag through it and put it in the safe. Neither gun was ever fired again. Fast forward to last year, guy is got a couple months to live and just want's enough money from gun sales for a killer party at the VFW in his name. Got the 586 and the G17 for $200 each. I will never shoot the 586 since it is immaculate! will go to my grandson after i'm gone. G17 is in EDC rotation. I have a 686-3 and i have to admit that the 586 is much better made, and this is subjective only.
