Good thoughts and advice, thanks! I turned 64 a couple of months ago, and up until a year ago, was a regular distance runner. That suggests that I'm in pretty good shape, but not a hulk. I hurt my knee (torn meniscus) and that has hampered my running considerably. My biggest drawback is my vision, though. Like many others, I have presbyopia, which makes it hard to focus on the pistol's front sight. I have new prescription glasses, which are progressive lenses, and am learning to shoot without tilting my head back to focus through them.

Protected One, thanks for your suggestions. You are correct in that I don't have my CCW, yet. I have all of the course certs and documents required, but have been traveling, so until I return, won't be able to go to the courthouse with application in hand.

But as I hinted in my OP, my CC education doesn't stop with me getting the permit, it starts it!
