That is the same model of holster that the Colorado State Patrol was issuing in the early '80's when we went to the 686 4". When the Heiser company went under around 1972, our agency started buying leather exclusively from Don Hume until around '96 or so when they switched to Safariland and a retention holster system. We used that holster with a variation for weapon type from the early 80's through to the switch. Prior to that holster we had used a Heiser cross draw model almost since the CSP got armed back in 1936. Some where in a box I have all my old issue leather that got superseded.
