The 9mm Luger was originally made for the 124gr bullet. The 115gr bullet came about to save metal in wartime. The 147gr was designed for subsonic shooting with suppressors.
Therefore the 124gr HP is most likely to work in all barrel lengths (note the OP failed to mention whether he has a 3", 4" or 5" barrel), be readily available, simple to reload with many powders, and does not get hinky about slow twist barrels (like a light handload with 147gr).

Depending on specific guns and tastes, usually a suitable load can be found with any of the common weights.
