I remain quite comfortable with one defensive piece.
I do not encourage disaster by going in to known areas of trouble if I can avoid same.
I do carry different defensive pieces based upon where I am going to be. Forethought can be your friend with respect to avoidance or defense.
Thirty years ago I only felt the need to carry concealed when carrying large amounts of cash or valuables. Today I am compelled to carry 24/7. Sadly the world has changed. I want the old days back.
