There is no more threatening body language position, for your hands to be than either in your coat, jacket or pants pockets, other than clasped hand in hand, in front of you.
Every rookie cop learns this. Cop 101...get the memo.
Our detectives/plainclothesmen, mostly wore an IWB at the appendix as a back up for the service weapon worn on the strong side, sometimes an additional pocket rig in the pants or jacket, depending upon the weather or season of the year.
In the "interview position" wearing a suit or sports jacket, unbuttoned, hands clasped at the waist, the appendix IWB was unbeatable at the draw, unless you weren't paying careful attention to an unsearched or un frisked "wrong guy". But that was usually the first order of business anyway.
Short of your hand on the piece, there is nothing faster, which is why I sell more of them every year. No doubt, not a chance.
