Now that's a gun! I've got one about 200 numbers higher. We all like the early ones. The best part was the story about the early machining. It seems that the tooling for them was pretty similar to that used on the Model 36. And the workers kind of knew how many parts the new tooling could produce before needing to be replaced. The problem with the 60 and the stainless selected wasn't able to cut nearly as many barrels, etc. The estimates I heard was they were getting maybe 70 units like barrels out of standard carbon steel. With the stainless, it was shot at maybe 10. Tougher material, more tool wear.

Hold on to that one, its a gem.
