I find that sitting around watching TV leads to a lot of craving for munchies. I feel less inclined to eat if I am busy. Also, the battle is easier to fight if you never bring the junk food into the house. Hard to eat junk food if it isn't there.
For snacking, sometimes I'll make a meatloaf. It also makes better sandwiches than the processed lunch meat.
