The last five-screw Pre-24 probably shipped around 1956/57 with a serial number in the S147xxx range. The last major block of guns with any Model 24 designation were probably the Lou Horton 24-3s in the mid-1980s. The company was still selling a few 24-3s on their own at that time, but they all faded away pretty soon. The last ones had the seven-digit alphanumeric serial numbers still used today. There were some heritage series revolvers made later, but I kind of don't consider them regular issue guns.

As I watch myself write this, a question comes to mind: Were there any four screw Pre-24s? I don't think I have ever seen or heard of one, and I'm too lazy right now to go look for an answer.
