Just call me "The Searcher". My Model 10-5 shown here was issued to
plain cloths detective on the Boise PD back in the 60s. In 1968 Lawrence
came up with what they called the "Special Agent". It appears to be
a "plain jane" holster. This specimen is a 34JV F.B.I. style quick-draw
holster with a hammer guard to protect jacket lining from the hammer
spur. It is lined with smooth grain saddle leather. The outside is from
imported pig skin.
For some reason I felt like I had to have one for the Model 10. So I
searched. I advertised in the Wanted forum. I sent flyers to gun shops.
I even called Bill Lawrence (George's great grandson, who ran Lawrence
at the time they sold to Gould & Goodrich.) Well the Bible says "search
and you will find", and I finally found.
