I once let a now ex friend use one of my pistols on one of our shooting sessions.
He shot out my passenger window, from INSIDE the car.
He never did cough up the money for the replacement window, hence the "ex" part.
I don't loan things.
Customers and neighbors always want to borrow things.
My wife let my former neighbor borrow my push mower after his daughter bent the crank on his, by running over rocks.
I was at work and didn't know it had happened until I went to cut my grass the next weekend.
My mower knocked like a diesel. I asked her what happened to it.
"Steve needed to borrow it, so I let him use it."
Yep, his daughter bent the crank on mine, hitting rocks.
That was the exact reason I have never been a lender.
