I've never used CLP. Mostly Ballistol. I have a Black Comp Hunter and a Magnum Hunter and have never seen anything like that. That would turn my stomach if that happened to one of mine. Try Some Ballistol or anything that doesn't have ammonia in it and you might get lucky.
