I believe you will find that Ruger SAs have enough headspace for rims of .45Colt thickness. I think you will find that .030 is the amount to be removed to allow the use of .45AR in your Ruger .45acp cylinder. Some folks use .45 Cowboy spl. in these cylinders. See below.
