S&Ws sold thousands of these Safety Hammerless model revolvers, called " Lemon Squeezers" by collectors, so they are not rare, however the ones sought after are like you have purchased - near new condition in a correct original box. Your gun is a first model .32 Safety Hammerless of the three models made ( an antique under ATF rules )and if the box is original to the gun, it should have the serial number of the gun penciled on the bottom and the instruction printed on the inside of the lid should match the method of releasing the barrel latch to open the gun. ( There are different latch mechanisms and instructions vary accordingly.) Ed.
