When I first fired my Sport II, it had these handguards on it. I ran a 60 round string fairly quickly, and the handguard was still comfortable to hold.

Agree, that was my point. The heat shields are only in the middle and do nothing to protect the plastic ends. Well, no need to upgrade the handguard if anyone was thinking about it.
