We were told they decided to get the equipment to start doing the nitriding process in-house, versus sending slides & barrels to a vendor (and paying to use a process with a trademarked name owned by someone else). It also allows them immediate control over the process and QC oversight.

This is the second name I've seen them use since we were told of their decision to start doing their own process. It's something they offer to other gun companies, too, like their forging and heat treat services.
