What do hope to gain by going to a new slide and barrel that is 3/4 of an inch shorter?

- Velocity will be slightly less
- the shorter gun won't conceal noticeably differently (or better), as the longer parts don't show up when in a holster.

With the shooting team I am on they have a few categories of competition they run. This will allow me to shoot in the combat and service weapon categories.
