I too was after something that just looked different to the standard birdcage. I managed to get an airsoft G36K flashhider from a member on a UK shooting forum. It took a little boring out but i really like the look;
You need to be careful with the airsoft stuff though as the overwhelming majority of muzzlebrakes/flashhiders have a 14x1 thread, rather than the 1/2" needed.
