You guys should be subscribing to the NRA-ILA newsletters, in order to keep abreast of things.

It is one of the 2 Bills being discussed this Week in the current session. It was reported by NRA-ILA yesterday.

Permitless Carry is a Tx House Bill.
Quote:
... House Bill 1911, sponsored by Rep. James White (R-Woodville). This legislation would allow those who would otherwise qualify for a LTC to carry a handgun for protection without the license.
The other (Tx Senate Bill) is to greatly reduce the cost of Licensing.
Quote:
SB 16 would significantly reduce License to Carry (LTC) fees in the Lone Star State. No law-abiding Texan should be priced out of the ability to exercise his or her right to self-defense.

This is not the 1st time that Permitless (Constitutional?) Carry has been submitted. Since we just got Open Carry and Campus Carry passed not too long ago, I wouldn't hold my breath on Permitless Carry passing this time around... But we can hope.
