Except for not pulling the trigger during disassembly, the slide on my new Shield does the exact same thing - hanging up about 1/8" forward of where it would normally be when released from the locked position.
However, a little forward nudge will go ahead and pop my slide right off.
It is also totally unnecessary to pull the trigger during disassembly if the sear activation lever is disengaged.
