I haven't traveled overseas in years, but still keep the money there, and EDC 3:30-4 o'clock right side.
An added bonus - the paperboy brings me a new "wallet" every day.
Another good reason for carrying your wallet in a front pocket is that its better for your back & spine. The imbalance created when sitting with a wallet in the rear pocket is one of the leading causes of spinal misalignment in men.
