If you really were being respectful, you wouldn't have said this. But it does raise the question, why haven't you moved out of Maryland? They have the same laws against modern sporting rifles that CA does. They have a 10 rounds mag limit and a semi-automatic center-fire rifle with a removable magazine is illegal which is what the OP is talking about. So, tell us, why haven't you moved yet?
