Saw an interesting pre 29 today. It had an 8 3/8" barrel. It had the wrong grips on it. It was completely covered with dry oil. I started to buy it but was hesitant because it did not have the serial number in the injector rod housing. If it had had the serial number in the injector rod housing or barrel I would have probably bought it. I would rate the gun in the 90-95 percent condition wise, could be better when cleaned up. So my question is did they make any five screws with the serial number not on the barrel and what would be a rough value? Sorry I could not get any pictures. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also did the make any five screws with 8 3/8" barrels? I do remember that the first part of the serial number were S 62.
