Here is what I think of when I think of "Detective Special", and it had a steel frame. I can carry this revolver in the same pocket holster (Galco horsehide PH158) that I carry my 340 PD and other J frames in. But it is a little heavy, so a "Cobra" would be the same gun with an alloy frame. That, in my opinion would be a real pocket carry gun, and I still, like some other posters cannot figure why they are calling the steel frame gun a "Cobra".
Here is my 1971 Colt Cobra. Makes a nice pocket gun in the above holster.
