I still shoot my 1958 M41 weekly and lately my M46 as well. To me the long barrel has perfect balance 7-3/8" but I can always remove the barrel weight to lighten it up if its too heavy for a shooter. I would not shoot that gun very much unless you put a false nose on it. Less cleanup problems later.
