I use 124gr for range and carry. 124gr FMJ is relatively easy to find, as is 124gr JHP.

For carry, ALL my pistols (even the KTs) like Gold Dot and I can usually find 124gr Gold Dot in 50 round boxes, so even after 'sample' firing a couple mags, I still plenty left from the box to load up several mags.
(tough {and more expensive} to do with the smaller 20 round boxes).
