Default A July 4th Tradition: Soaking the 940

But unlike previous years I didn't do it fishing. Instead, we kayaked up the creek, further than the previous best wading trek 40 years ago, but still short of the goal of getting to a known tributary.

Lets see if the Imgur hosting site will share photos easily here:

ETA: well, that didn't work. See below:

EDIT2
test:

Three hours upstream, 45 minutes back.

EDIT 3:
That seemed to work, and since only about 15 people followed the link, here's
the photos in the album. Note that the 940 got dunked only because it got taken out of it's pocket for the photos! Was secure all the rest of the day....

Dry box most useful to keep camera and phone alive. Machete came in handy, too.

Such as here, where a fallen tree had blocked most of the creek. This side channel was created when the tree on the right bank (going upstream) uprooted. The main channel was also blocked in the same place by a downed tree from the opposite side! Quite the mess.

940 snake medicine. Stopped at this rock for a break and photos.

Figured the velcro'ed pocket flap would suffice to secure the 940, but I must not have closed it well after taking pictures.....

Fell in whilst retrieving machete left accidentally at photo site. It was damp already, but...
Not intentional!

It has been pulled apart and dried. Even after sitting overnight, no rust on the casehardened non-stainless trigger and hammer!
