There has to be an exception to every rule... and when it comes to 3rd Gens, I am it.

With the notable exception of my CS40, I generally do not carry any of my 3rd Gens. And I own more than a few of them.

Why? Two reasons.

1) I am old and overweight. Doc says I'd have to lose 90+ pounds just to be considered obese. So comfortable carry for me usually means pocket carry... and for that purpose, very small, lightweight plastic works best.

2) My beloved 3rd Gen collection took a lot of time, effort and money to accumulate. It ain't easy up here in moonbat MA ya know. I would hate like Hell to drop, damage, lose, break or otherwise mess up any of my beloved 3rd Gens. Plastic I don't care a hoot about... but they ain't makin' them highly-desirable 3rd Gens anymore and so I guard mine with my life.
