It all comes off, eventually, but I eventually tried using a little Mother's Mag Wheel Polish and a Q-Tip. Used a little Ballistol afterwards to C-L-P the metal.

When you say "....on the inside...." if you mean in the bore, then no. Burnt powder blasts out the same as an unported gun. Just that some goes out the ports, some out the muzzle.....and a mess between the slide and the barrel.
