Thanks for the comments. I had not considered the negative ramifications of the oil soaking in the wood.

Hondo, the blue 2" gun does have the coil main spring. The s/n is 574XXX. It has the two line stamping on the left side of the barrel. I find that a cool feature, have a 2" M&P from the same time frame that also has the two lines.
